Members from the Middle Rio Grande Chapter delivering 100 frozen turkeys to local food banks that will distribute them to needy families for Thanksgiving 2006.  This effort is part of the Turkey Hunters Care program.

2008 Project List

 

June 7:  Meadow thinning on Mountainair Ranger District, Cibola National Forest.  Remove encroaching trees from existing meadow.  This is a preliminary plan.  Nature of project may change.

 

June 21:  Whitecap wildlife water replacement, Magdalena Ranger District, Cibola National Forest.  Assemble 3,500 gallon metal storage tank with catchment and drinker, expand fenced exclosure.

 

July 12:  Cottonwood Canyon turkey water.  Pelona Mountain, Socorro Field Office, Bureau of Land Management.  Install 3,500 gallon metal storage tank with catchment and drinker, and install exclosure fence.

 

July 26:  Williams Tank seep exclosure.  Magdalena Ranger District, Cibola National Forest.  Expand existing fenced exclosure, repair pipeline, and install new drinker.
